Oh my. I’ve never been to a masked ball, but now I want to.
And I can’t believe the “late daffodils.” That was when? We’re still having snow in Moscow (she says bitterly).
A couple of weeks ago. There are still some in flower. We were at our place in northern France last week and haveplenty of daffs there, though they are starting to droop. You choose to live in a continental climate (as we were taught to call it in geography lessons)…
But it is a very unusual April, we’ve had a long spell of hot sunny weather – it’s been 24 degrees today in London. Just hope that it will continue warm – if not so hot — through spring. There is even talk of a hosepipe ban in southern england – that is, a ban on watering your garden or cleaning your car – if we don’t get rain fairly soon as the reservoirs are going down fast.
Yeah, I know. Muscovites like to sneer at the city’s “moderate continental climate,” which ranges from -35 to +35. This year is a rough one so far, with temps still down below or at freezing at night. Daffodils and lilacs and tulips sound lovely…
